About this tour
Embark on an extraordinary expedition to the majestic Greenland Ice Cap.
Sermersuaq, meaning "ice cap" in Greenlandic, is an iconic focal point amid global concerns about climate change. Our expedition takes you to the awe-inspiring Qalerallit Sermia near Narsaq. Depending on weather and sea ice conditions, the journey may extend to the water's edge, offering a rare opportunity to walk on the exposed land.
If the weather allows it, you will stand by the remnants of retreating ice, connecting with the enormity of the ice cap that blankets 80% of Greenland. The contrast of your own scale against this immense sheet of ice highlights the impact of environmental changes.
Our Ice Cap trip is not just a journey into the Arctic wilderness; it is an exploration of the forces shaping our planet.
Duration: 5 hours: approx. 1 hour 20 min boat trip each way, 10 min walk at the ice cap
